Founded in 1992 as Cutaway Video Clips by former television reporter Tom Grant and wife Mary Anne.  In 1997 the company was purchased by Lisa Regehr, incorporated and renamed Cutaway Media.  Cutaway Media is a leading electronic news monitoring and TV clipping service. Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, Cutaway Media provides; Broadcast News Monitoring Reports, Media Intelligence, Media Analysis, Power Search, TV News Clips via DVD and digital download, Public Relations Support Services, Research Data, Professional Video Editing Systems as well as Radio monitoring. Cutaway Media records and monitors local TV & radio news broadcasts and has access to over 200 U.S. DMA’s in near real time and all National News broadcasts and thousands of Social Media sites. All local newscasts are archived in Cutaway Media's Video Library dating back to 2006 for the Spokane Market and 2008 for Tri-Cities/Yakima Market. The local and national Broadcast News text data may be researched back to 2002 broadcast date.

Cutaway Media became a member of News Data Services (NDS) in 2006.


Lisa Regehr: President and CEO of Cutaway Media

Lisa graduated from Bend High School in Bend, Oregon. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Washington University as well as a Master’s Degree from Leslie College. She was born in Pisa, Italy to Military Parents. Her father, Jack Bergstrom, was a communications specialist on board naval vessels that helped retrieve 3 Apollo mission spacecraft. As a result of her military background and various jobs, Lisa has called many places home including San Diego, Long Beach, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Helena, Honolulu and Exmouth, Western Australia, Bend, San Francisco, Copper Mt., Bermuda, Bahamas, France and finally Spokane, Washington! Lisa studied French for several years which led her to travel to France to work and live in a 13th Century castle in Corbigny, France. Her many duties there were part hostess, housemaid, crepe maker and Slave! Working in the castle taught her many things but mostly to never eat rabbit again in her life! The mother of 3, Lisa is active and serves on various school committees. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for NDS. An avid reader, she can often be found with a novel at hand.


Duane Regehr: Vice-President Cutaway Media

Duane is a Washington native and a graduate of Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee, Washington. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio and Television News Production from Eastern Washington University. After a short internship with KREM TV in Spokane, Duane worked for nearly 5 years as a news photographer and chief photographer for KTVB (NBC) in Boise, Idaho. Duane returned to Spokane and worked as a news photographer for 18 years at KREM (CBS) television. His television career brought him many accolades including 2 Emmy Awards, dozens of AP, UPI and SPJ awards as well as the coveted DuPont-Columbia University Journalism award for his work with Reporter Tom Grant. Duane continues to work with the video camera freelancing for the networks as well as working with local clients.  The father of 3, Duane has often said that being a dad has been the best job of his life. A former high school and collegiate wrestler, Duane enjoys grappling with his young son Benjamin.
